Where the heat actually goes out
Windows are worth doing, and they are rarely the biggest loss in the house. Both of those things are true.
The glass is the small part
On most houses the roof and the walls lose more than the windows do. That is why a surveyor starts with the loft rather than the glazing.
The frame and the seal are the rest
Old frames leak air around the edges as much as through the glass. Replacing them stops draughts you had stopped noticing.
Which changes the ventilation
A house that has just stopped leaking air still makes the same amount of moisture. Trickle vents are not an optional extra on a tightened house.
So they get specified together
Glazing spec, trickle vents and extract, considered as one thing. It is the difference between a warmer house and a warmer house with mould in the corners.

Are windows the best way to save energy?
Rarely the best first move. On most houses the roof and the walls lose more, and cost less to fix. Windows are worth doing, usually after those.
Do I need trickle vents?
On a replacement window, current building regulations generally require background ventilation where it existed before, and a tightened house needs it regardless. We specify them rather than leave them off to save a few pounds.
Is it FENSA registered?
Yes, 47480. Building control is notified through FENSA and the certificate comes to you.
How long does new windows take?
Most houses are one to three days on site. The lead time before that depends on the frames.
Do you do bi-folds?
Yes, where the opening and the lintel allow. That gets checked at the measure rather than assumed.
Will you make good afterwards?
Reveals, sills, plaster and external sealing are part of the job.
